Lotus Marie was born on April 1st 2008.

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon on Jet

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon was on the cover of Jet with her twins Jaid Thomas and Jax Joseph, where she discusses her Playboy Magazine cover.
“I knew I was trying to get pregnant, I said who knows how my body will look, maybe we should document this now. I wasn’t doing this for anyone other than to prove I could do it. Then they offered the cover, which they don’t normally do for Black women. That made it incredible.”
It’s also incredible how people try to turn objectification into a positive thing. Posing in Playboy is not empowering, it’s demeaning.
That’s my positive contribution for the day.

Laila Ali is Expecting

Just when I thought the celebrity baby craze was dying down…I was actually a little disappointed after Halle Berry had her baby because then there were no more celebrity babies for me to look forward to.
How naive of me.
Laila Ali announced to Essence magazine that she and her husband Curtis Conway are expecting a baby this fall.
“I don’t know yet if we are having a boy or a girl, but I’m excited that I have a life inside me that my husband and I created.”

Halle Berry Gives Birth

Is it March already? Wow…where have I been all month?
According to Star magazine, Halle Berry gave birth to a 7lb 4 oz girl Sunday morning at 10:17am.
A source says, “Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn’t even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene.”
Congratulations Halle!

UPDATE: The baby’s name is Nahla Ariela Aubry pronounced GNAW-lah ARE-ee-EL-uh
