Idol Gives Back…Do You?

Written by Celebrity Blogger on March 5, 2008 – 2:06 pm -

American Idol’s one night of Idol Gives Back is expected to happen on April 9th.

Last year the show raised over $75 million. In case you are wondering, the money was raised to help children and young people in poverty in the U.S. and Africa.

I wonder who they’ll have performing this year.

Big stars will have their wallets out…will you? Might as well do something charitable with at least a portion of your tax refund.

MJ Helps The Boys And Girls Club

Written by Celebrity Blogger on February 19, 2008 – 10:56 am -

michael-jordan.jpgThe Boys and Girls Club received a $500,000 check from Jordan Brand, which is a division of Nike. Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul joined community leaders and youth in New Orleans for a dedication ceremony.

This was a necessary donation as the Slidell Boys and Girls Club was damaged in Hurricane Katrina.

“The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America has been a visible contributor to the families and children of New Orleans, during and post Hurricane Katrina,” said Jordan. “Slidell is a community that has been somewhat overlooked in recovery efforts, and we are proud to aid with its rebuilding and leave a lasting legacy for the community.”

It’s nice to know that people haven’t put New Orleans off their radar.
