So what if her first movie didn’t gain critical acclaim, she back and trying again. Mariah Carey will be in an independent movie called Tennessee.

The movie is produced by Lee Daniels, you might recognize that name from Monster’s Ball, Shadowboxer, or The Woodsman.

Here’s the premise:

“Two brothers, Carter (Adam Rothenberg) and Ellis (Ethan Peck), embark on a journey from New Mexico to find their estranged father in the hopes of saving Ellis, who has been diagnosed with terminal leukemia. Along the way they meet Krystal (Mariah Carey), an aspiring country singer, who becomes the brothers’ guardian angel and joins them on their fateful road trip.”

The movie will premier at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 26th at 6PM. It will be shown again on April 27th, April 30th, May 1st, and May 3rd.

Give it a chance,she might have improved since Glitter. If not, I still love the girl for trying.

Beyonce will be back with something new, and it’s not an album.

She’ll star with Idris Elba and Ali Larter in a new thriller called “Obsessed”.

Elba will play an asset manager with an attractive wife (Knowles) and thriving career — until a temp office worker (Larter) begins stalking him.

This sounds like a movie I’d actually enjoy. It begins filming this summer.

Mike Tyson says that he hopes a story of his life will warn kids to stay on the straight and narrow.

What better way to reach out to kids than to put it in a movie.

“Jamie Foxx and I will be working together,” Tyson told the Review-Journal. “He will play me in the film about my life. We already talked about it several times.”

Tyson is only 41 and if he keeps his mind right he has a lot of years ahead of him. Why not wait a few…or twenty…years for a movie. Wait until you have something good to report, a complete turnaround, something inspiring, something of substance. That’s just my opinion.

But I guess there is some good to his story. He’s been drug free since being released from jail on a 2006 cocaine conviction. What an inspirational movie this will make.
