I always wondered if reporters worried about their safety but I thought they’d be somewhat protected by the cameras. I figured that people would have sense enough to act decently if they knew cameras were on them.

I was wrong.

Here’s a clip of a reporter being attacked by three women. I’m going to guess this is a racial issue, but I’ll leave it up to you to judge. Note, there are two different versions. The first one is more sanitized, which is to be expected since it’s from the station of the reporter who was attacked. The second clip is the same, but it’s the raw footage.

Harvard College has appointed it’s first black female dean, Evelynn Hammonds, who is Harvard’s senior vice provost for faculty development and diversity and a professor of the history of science and African-American studies.

“I am honored to have this extraordinary opportunity to lead the College with its exceptional students at such an important period in its history,” Hammonds said in a statement. “I know that there are many challenges facing the College, and I am ready to tackle them with my colleagues’ help.”

Hammond will be both the first female, and the first black person to hold the position of dean of the college.

Hammonds is a graduate of Spelman College (where she earned a B.S. in Physics and also holds an honorary doctorate of humane letters)and the Georgia Institute of Technology(where she earned a B.E.E. in electrical engineering). She later received an S.M. in physics from MIT and earned a Ph.D. in the history of science at Harvard.

Well the latest, aside from that Ohio and Texas primary, is that he and his wife Michelle are expected to attend opening night at “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”

In case you didn’t know, this play is the first production led by an all-black cast to be authorized by playwright Tennessee Williams’ estate. It features Terrance “Baby Wipes” Howard, James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad and Anika Noni Rose.

My question is, why are people revealing Barack’s personal schedule like that? You can bet the Secret Service will be there in full force.

Denzel and Paulette Washington, Spike Lee, Bill and Camille Cosby, and Will Smith and Jada are also expected to attend.
