Kilpatrick Apologizes
Written by Celebrity Blogger on January 31, 2008 – 11:28 am -I haven’t posted anything about the situation with Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick because it’s such an ugly situation.
On one hand you want to ask why is private business being made so public, but on the other hand you have to realize that peoples tax dollars are involved in this situation.
I have to tip my hat for his fessing up on TV because that must have been hard. Sure, the proof is right there so he had no choice, but he could have just said nothing, or issued a statement. Kilpatrick said:
“I truly apologize to each and every one of you individually and to the whole city. Most of all tonight I want to make a public apology to my entire family and specifically to the four people who I love the most in this world.”
Kilpatrick went on to apologize to his sons and explains how difficult it was to explain the situation to them. Then he apologized to his wife Carlita. Boy she looks mad (and rightfully so) but she’s standing by her man. Is it just me or is she reading from a script?
See how much trouble you get into when you don’t control your hormones?

Obamarama On Letterman
Written by Celebrity Blogger on January 25, 2008 – 5:39 pm -I have my opinions on this whole election thing (that I will graciously keep to myself) but the one thing I will say publicly is that Barack Obama is so doggone personable. He’s just so likeable that it’s killing me.
Here’s Barack on David Letterman giving his Top 10.

Money in the Bank?
Written by Celebrity Blogger on January 25, 2008 – 10:34 am -
I’ve been avoiding thinking about taxes because it’s just a hassle. Actually it’s only in my mind because once I sit down to do it, it doesn’t take that long. This year I might actually start earlier than April 14th because I’m excited about the stimulus plan.
CNN reports that the plan would send checks of $600 to individuals and $1,2000 to couples who paid income tax and who filed jointly. If you didn’t pay federal income tax but earned more than $3,000 you’d get checks of $300 per individual or $600 per couple. There will also be an amount per child which would be about $300. You would qualify if you earned up to $75,000 as an individual or $150,000 as a couple.
This is an effort to help boost the economy. The checks could be in the mail by June.
If you get one, spend it wisely…in fact don’t spend it. Put it in a high interest savings account. When something comes up and money is tight you’ll be glad that you have that tucked away.
