In case you haven’t heard it yet, here’s Mariah Carey’s new song “Touch My Body” off of her upcoming album E=MC2 which hits stores April 15th.

I like the song because it’s so relevant. You can’t do anything without fearing that it will end up on Youtube. But then again I am a hard core Mariah fan so you’d be hard pressed to find a song of her’s that I don’t love.

While some people are congratulating Amy Winehouse on her five Grammy wins, Natalie Cole is saying, no, no, no.

“I don’t think she should have won. I think it sends a bad message to our young people who are trying to get into this business, the ones who are trying to do it right and really trying to keep themselves together. We have to stop rewarding bad behavior.”

Natalie used to have a substance abuse problem so she knows what the deal is. She continued:

“I’m sorry. I think the girl is talented, gifted, but it’s not right for her to be able to have her cake and eat it too. She needs to get herself together.”

I agree and I never liked the fact that people were treating a song about not going to rehab as the new national anthem.

“I mean, she could die. This isn’t something that’s cute and fun just to throw around in the press. The girl really has a problem, and I think for those of us who have been in the business long enough, we know the sacrifice it takes. This is about discipline and hard work, and you don’t get to just do your drugs and go onstage and get rewarded.”

There’s some good news for singer Mya.

She’ll be making her Broadway debut in the play Chicago. She had a small role in the movie version as Mona.

Now Mya has a nine-week run as Velma Kelly starting May 12th.

This is great news for her especially since her album Liberation has been constantly pushed back. I don’t even know if it’s still an option now but I did enjoy the single she released last year.

While I missed her Superbowl performance last night, I’ll be sure to tune in when Alicia Keys performs at the Grammy’s. This is going to be quite a nice lineup. First Beyonce and Tina Turner announced they were performing , now we have Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Rihanna hitting the stage.

The ceremony airs Sunday February 10th.

Here’s Alicia’s pregame Superbowl performance. I used to have some pants like that…a very long time ago. Boy I sure was confident.
