I’ve always wondered how DC member Kelly Rowland felt about being less popular than Beyonce. No negativity here, but I’d been lying if I said it never crossed my mind. Kelly clears all that up with an interview with The Voice.

“People see how positive we are as women and as friends, and instead of them learning from that, they wanna hate on it. I have no time for that kind of negative thinking. People should be happy to see women getting along and working together, without being insecure about each other. It doesn’t have to be drama, but people always wanna create drama! I don’t even let that bother me. Coz people will continue to talk and we’ll just continue selling records.”

She makes a good point. Why can’t people look at them and see two friends who are supportive of each other? Why does it always have to be “Kelly sure must be jealous”?

She also talks about the charity work that she’s been doing with Beyonce.

“It’s called the Knowles Rowland Teminals building. It’s basically for situations like Hurricane Katrina, where so many people lost their homes. I can only imagine not being able to go to my home. Our shelter provides the means for people in those situations to re-build their lives.”

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of facilities in North America that provides superior medical care at no charge to children under the age of 18. Justin Timberlake also supports the cause by hosting the golf tournament, Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which will take place on October 13-19, 2008, in Las Vegas.
