Star Jones is getting good with these open letters. First she was telling the media to back off of the Heath Ledger ordeal, now she’s responding to Bill O’Reilly’s comments about Michelle Obama. I’m not mad at her, it’s always nice when someone uses their celebrity for something good.

A little background, someone was mad that Michelle Obama said “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country” and they called into his show.

O’Reilly responded by saying, “I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that’s how she really feels - that is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever - then that’s legit. We’ll track it down.”

Lynching party? Track it down? What is this an 1808 plantation?

The Presidential Race heated up, two candidates dropped out, but here’s what went on in the land of celebrities.

Montel Williams flipped the script on Fox News, and it was funny.

Celebs were looking fabulous at the Welcome Home Roscoe Jones Premier.

Then the Montel Williams Show was canceled, so was the Star Jones show.

Next Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpartick apologized.

truTV has given the Star Jones Show the adios. She’ll still serve as a contributing legal expert for the network so that means she’s not totally out of a job…right?

Every five seconds we are hearing something different about Heath Ledger.

He did this, she called this person, they found this….

It’s annoying because why can’t people let them finish the investigation before they go spreading things that may or may not be true. It’s one thing to report that he died, it’s another thing to completely invade the privacy and space of grieving family members.

Star Jones agrees and has posted her opinion on her Huffington Post blog.

“Let’s get to what we don’t know: his death was a tragic accident, or something to the contrary. Until we know for sure, I think the media should just shut their mouths and stop all the speculation that’s been running rampant….Please let them grieve in privacy and dignity for a few days at least for goodness sake. As far as I’m aware, Heath Ledger never did anything but conduct himself in the most respectful and charismatic way….The scene outside his apartment on the night Ledger died made me sick to my stomach. People gawking and waiting around for a body bag to be removed…Might I suggest that we in the media, instead of reporting on the dead based on gossip, rumor, innuendo and anonymous sources, choose to honor this man’s memory based on his talent and the good taste we all should be exercising.”
